We thought it would be fun to prove how much we miss and keep tabs on everybody with a post that reports the news from back home.
To begin, we have two very big CONGRATULATIONS to hand out. First, our good friend Rainier has been accepted to at least two law schools and looks to be leaning toward the Minneapolis school Hamline to spend the next few years of his life. Huge news and we are really excited for him. He might win the award for first visitor as he wants to make a quick Europe visit before he starts school in the fall.
Second, our good friends Tim and Kristina have got engaged and plans are falling quickly into place for an August wedding. Chizzy remains proud that she was present the night the two first met at Targy’s. She is less proud she allowed Kristina to be driven home a couple blocks by a complete stranger but it seems to have worked out. Congratulations to them and now maybe Tim can introduce Kristina to his mom. Joking. Come on.
While on the wedding subject, we haven’t forgotten about thank you’s for all our great gifts. We have just been waiting for a permanent address so we can pass that information along as well. We feel bad it is taking so long.
In other news, Chiz had a birthday yesterday and I did my best to recreate the party she had last year. I failed, but we had a nice dinner in and went out for some drinks afterwards. My gift of CDs was a bit lacking, but luckily Shelby had fantastic international mail timing and Chiz received a giant stack of US Weekly magazines on her birthday (along with a very nice scarf Shelby knitted that immediately went into use). It was like the arrival of our extended family and we were sad to learn Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth are no longer an item.

If you aren’t keeping up on the Sonics fearless fantasy forecast of our very own correspondent Nick you are missing out. It has been fun watching him very slowly backtrack as the season progresses and reluctantly admit that Rashard Lewis is worth keeping on your team.
We know Piro totaled his car in an accident of his own making, but we still don’t know if he will go for a third Camero or finally settle on that station wagon to better suit his new lifestyle. We also heard he made his trip to Cuba, but again we wouldn’t really know what happen since he refuses to update his Web site with any information about it. Too busy snuggling, I suppose.
Chizzy’s brother Bob now is employed by the same company Chiz works for and is just replying to any work requests with, “You know who my sister is, right”? He’s made VP.
Got word from Chico the other day too. He’s the cat that didn’t make the cut if you weren’t aware. He seems to be doing well and taking care of Christine pretty well.
I guess there really isn’t that much news there after all. If any faithful readers out there are looking for news of their personal lives to be broadcast to the world, please consider chizzyandbryan.com.
BS - bro. I've remained off of Mr. Softy Rashard Lewis and still am. He's a good basketball player but a hollow fantasy player. How dare you!?!?
The Red Fern, March 10, 2005 11:03 PM:Cheryl and BK....what's going on? Yeah, fairly lame for not reaching our earlier. No excuse other than I'm a typical lazy american who is over-worked and can't take a moment to enjoy all the Magnolia's in Georgia. Huh? It's nice to hear that you made it to Zurich and are getting settled. It sounds warm there.
The latest news is Bern stopped tanning and is going back to his natural color, Steve has gone into hiding and I'm still trying to figure out why I thought Atlanta would be cool. The struggle continues. I'm going to try and bring back fernadnbern.com but want to build the site and have started studying how HTML works. I figure I will get the site configured and then have Bern take over with some of the details, etc.
Janelle say's hello and we miss you guy's!
Take care,

Great to hear from you guys. No need whatsoever to feel bad about not sending word. There are probably no worse people in terms of keeping in touch than Chiz and I. We are even worse than bad because when people do write we just say, "read the site". Even my replying to your comment for the whole world to see proves my point. Nice personal touch, eh?
sara willy (the original), March 11, 2005 02:13 AM:Hi guys!
Hopefully you got my birthday email yesterday...stay tuned for the birthday present in the mail. Cheryl, you look very Hollywood with the bangs. I'm thinking US Weekly will be hounding you for an interview soon.
Miss you!
xoxo
